WAFL Round 6 RecapMonday, May 6, 2024 - 9:51 AM - by Chris Pike

SWAN Districts won for the first ever time at the redeveloped Revo Fitness Stadium in Round 6 of the WAFL with big wins also for South Fremantle, East Fremantle, East Perth and Peel Thunder.

It proved to be a fascinating weekend of WAFL action with Peel shooting to the top of the ladder while Swans broke a winless run at Tigerland, the Bulldogs made it four straight, the Sharks made a statement and the Royals kept on winning.

East Fremantle's premiership defence is building some momentum after Saturday's 17.7 (109) to 7.10 (52) win against Subiaco at Sullivan Logistics Stadium as they celebrated the 100th game of premiership vice-captain Jarrad Jansen.

Peel Thunder then improved to 4-1 to go top with the 25.14 (164) to 7.9 (51) hammering of West Perth at Lane Group Stadium which is the biggest ever win for the Thunder against the Falcons in 60 games against one another.

Swan Districts scored a first win at Revo Fitness Stadium since before the ground was redeveloped back in 2023 with the black-and-whites returning to the winner's list beating Claremont 9.9 (63) to 6.10 (46).

South Fremantle was able to make it four straight wins to be building some impressive momentum with a best on ground display of 30 possessions and three goals from Isiah Winder in the 10.14 (74) to 4.13 (37) victory against Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

The round wrapped up on Sunday at Sullivan Logistics Stadium with East Perth improving to a 4-1 record with a commanding 18.7 (115) to 6.5 (41) victory against the West Coast Eagles.
